In the summer of 2022, I had this incredible opportunity to attend a prestigious research program at Southern Methodist University(SMU). I was one of 20 students across the US to be offered this incredible opportunity to research nanobots/microbots at the SMU lab. Microrobots are small automated machines that have the potential to serve a huge role in the medical field. Microrobots are 100x the size of nanorobots and could be used to move singular biological molecules within cells. They play a crucial role in drug delivery targeting a specific human body location.

Under the guidance of our mentor Gokhan Kararsiz, my team and I researched how to maneuver microrobots in various maze designs using rotating magnetic fields. I learned so much about microbots, the stimuli, and the manipulation of the X, Y, and Z axes to control the microbot's movement in a specific direction.
